Balloon Rockets – Blast Off!

Another month, another science topic! Today we began our new science topic – learning about Air!

We began our new topic by talking about how air is all around us, although we can see it! We learnt new key vocabulary, such as; “breathe”, “lungs”, and even “oxygen”. After talking about how we can use air and wind around us to stay cool in summer, students were also able to think of ways we can use air to help us travel around! Parachutes, gliders, hot air balloons, and sailboats are a few great examples we were able to think of together!

After learning about air, it was now time for our experiment! We used balloons and a pump to create balloon rockets. We split up into two teams, and used our balloon rockets to race each other! Everyone had so much fun cheering on their teams and taking turns to let the rockets blast off!

Amazing work today everyone, keep it up! See you next time!
