The End All, Bee All

Welcome back my Thursday bee-ings!

It is the last Thursday of the month and we finished it off well! We did our own observations of a beehive and we played an exciting game!

Our main focus today was on the three types of bees. The Queen bee, the worker bee and the drone bee! Did you know that only the female bees are worker bees? They also are the only bees that have stingers! (Besides the queen) The drone bees are all male and do not have stingers.

After the students understood the roles of different bees, we played a game to help them further acknowledge the duties.

We had a “queen” student with “worker” students protecting her from other animals! The students enjoyed trying to capture the “queen” while being chased away by the “workers”!

Lastly, we did our beehive report. We discussed what the beehive looked like and felt like. We drew our pictures of beehives and finished our monthly lesson on bees!

Have a good night and we will see you next week!
