Today we had a special dinosaur event at PAP.

We were fortunate to be joined by many of our existing PAP students, as well as some of our graduate students from past years. We also had a large number of afternoon students from the ACCESS Building. It was great to see so many kids.

We were also lucky to have Terry, the head teacher of Koenji school, join us for the event.

Our goals for the event were to learn some dinosaur facts, learn the chorus to “The Dino Dance Song,” and make a special dinosaur lantern.

We started off singing “The Dino Dance Song,” and trying the dance.

Do do do the Dinosaur Dance
If you love dinosaurs then now is your chance

After that, the kids started work on their lanterns. First, they had to paint the inside of their jar with either green, blue or yellow paint.

After painting, we learned some basic facts about dinosaurs. Did you know that the Brachiosaurus weighed over 80,000kg and is one of the largest land animals ever discovered? Or that a Stegosaurus had the same size brain as a dog?

Then the kids had a chance to create their own dinosaur. There were some very cool and artistic pictures, and some very cute ones too!

Finally, the kids cut out dinosaur stickers to put on their lanterns, and we put small lights inside them.

Thanks for coming everyone. We hope you had fun!
