Snowstorm in a Bottle!

Hell again everyone!

Welcome to another exciting Pre Access Science lesson! Last week, we created Elephant Toothpaste and watched it expand in our super science experiment!

Today, we did another amazing experiment in our class! But before that, we learnt some impressive scientific words! We spoke about experiments, hypotheses, reactions, and explosions. Our superstar scientists were so amazing, they even made predictions of their own and used these big words in full sentences! “I think it will explode!”. Let’s see if our hypothesis was correct…

After inspecting our materials, it was time to combine and mix them all together. We began by putting water into a bottle. Then, we added some white paint. Next, we filled the bottle with oil and watched as the solution separated. Finally, we added the alka-seltzer…

WHOOSH! Our white paint bubbled away, pushing the white paint higher and higher into the bottle! Then, we watched as the paint slowly trickled back down to the bottom. This made our bottles look like miniature snowstorms – the perfect winter science experiment!

Hurray! Our hypothesis was correct!

Well done clever scientists, see you next week!
