Still Life Drawing Adventure: Shoes!

Today’s preaccess session was a captivating exploration into the world of art, specifically focusing on the concept of still life drawing. Here’s a glimpse into our artistic journey:

As we gathered for preaccess, excitement filled the air as we introduced the concept of still life drawing to the children. They were intrigued by the idea of capturing everyday objects in art. For our still life subject, we decided to put a unique twist on tradition. Each child was tasked with selecting one of their inside shoes to serve as the subject for their drawing. The anticipation was palpable as they carefully chose their shoe, each one holding sentimental value and personal significance.

With their chosen shoes posed on the table, the children observed them closely, noting the intricate details and unique features. They marveled at the different shapes, textures, and colors, eager to translate these elements onto paper.

Armed with pencils and paper, the children embarked on their artistic journey, channeling their focus and creativity into capturing the essence of their shoes. With steady hands and determined strokes, they brought their subjects to life on the page.

As they worked diligently, the children embraced the challenge of still life drawing, experimenting with perspective, proportion, and shading to convey depth and realism in their artwork.

With each stroke of the pencil, their confidence grew, and soon the table was adorned with a colorful array of shoe drawings, each one a unique expression of creativity and imagination.

As we admired their artwork, it was evident that today’s preaccess session had sparked a newfound appreciation for the beauty and complexity of everyday objects.
