Today, we had a special Halloween activity! We tried our hand at pumpkin carving.

First of all, we selected the pumpkin. Ta da!

Then we introduced our carver.

Before carving began, the kids got to feel how heavy the pumpkin was.

Oof, that’s a heavy pumpkin!

But not for me!

After that, it was down to the serious business of carving.

First, the kids designed a scary face.

Then they pulled out the seeds.

They were all squishy and slimy!

C’mon, get stuck into it!

That’s the way!

Finally, it was time to pop out the face.

Looking good! Just needs the finishing touch.

Now, that’s one scary looking jack-o’-lantern!

The kids downstairs opted for a cuter approach. A Halloween Kitty-cat!

There were plenty of little helpers on hand.

Then it was time for the carving. Look at the precision work!
