In our Pre-Access Science class today, we continued the new theme of weighing heavy and light objects. We began the lesson by reviewing the key vocabulary we learnt last week, and using it to make sentences; “The elephant is heavier than the dog”.

After revising this, we continued to add even more vocabulary. Today, we learnt the meaning of the word ‘predict’ and we later used this when doing our weighing experiment. Pupils were able to form their own sentences; “I predict the Lego will be lighter than the eraser”, etc.

To test these predictions, we managed to create our very own rocker balance using some household items! After creating the scales, we put our theories to the test and discovered which items are heaviest and light!

After completing our amazing activity, we completed a worksheet to consolidate our learning. Well done scientists, keep up the great work!
