Spring Time Bird Art!

We began our adventure by crafting birds from toilet paper rolls. The children eagerly stapled the ends of the rolls perpendicular to one another, creating the body shape. They then skillfully cut the corners to round out the body and added a piece for the beak. This hands-on craft sparked their imaginations and fine motor skills.

After completing their bird creations, it was time to add some color! The kids used markers to bring their feathered friends to life, exploring various colors and patterns.

But the fun didn’t stop there! We embarked on a migration game, a playful and educational activity. The children had to “migrate” to one side of the room, choosing between summer and spring, just like birds do when they travel to warmer climates. This interactive game not only reinforced learning but also kept the children engaged and entertained.

The smiles, laughter, and excitement in the room were a testament to the joy of learning through hands-on activities. These experiences help nurture curiosity, creativity, and a love for discovery in our young learners.

As we wrapped up our preaccess session, the children left with their bird creations in hand, their faces beaming with pride.
