Boomerangs!

In today’s Social Studies class, we continued to study about the many physical features of the world. We reviewed what we learned about the oceans and continents, as well as the equator. Then we took a deeper look at the seven continents.

First, we named them again.

Then we went over some basic facts about the continents.

For example:

Which continent is the biggest?
Which continent is the smallest?
Which continent has the most people?
Which continent has no people?

After that, we focused on Australia, and talked about the boomerangs that the Aboriginal people use.

The kids knew that boomerangs are used for hunting animals, and that when you throw boomerangs they come back to you. They are also used for making music, and in the past they were used for fighting other tribes.

Then we made our very own boomerang designs.

Great work, everyone!

See you in next Tuesday’s class!
