Robot Makers!

Welcome to the future!

In our Pre Access Science lessons this month, we have been doing all kinds of crazy and creative experiments. Today’s lesson was no different! We had an amazing time doing yet another science experiment!

In today’s lessons, we began by discussing robots and what they look like. We quickly learnt that not all robots look the same and that they are all around us in our daily lives. We could even find a robot in our class room! The vacuum cleaner in our class is actually a robot! It is able to help us in our daily life and save us some time by cleaning the floor for us.

Next, we looked at all the materials we needed to make our very own robot. It included a battery, a toothbrush head, googly eyes, sticky tape, and a motor with wires. After inspecting and discussing our materials, we began building our robots.

We stuck our batteries to our toothbrush heads, places the motors on top, added the googly eyes, and then we connected the wires to the battery. As soon as the wires touched the battery…WOW! The toothbrush came to life and began to move! We watched as our newly made robots would spin, zoom, and move around the tables! Some pupils even raced their robots against each other, what fun!

What an amazing experiment, well done everyone! See you next time!
