Fire…. And Art!

Hello Thursday readers! It has been a while! I hope you had a great Obon holiday.

This first Thursday back, we did quite a few things. Our students had some very important practice today for a…..fire!

Fires are very dangerous and require many procedures. Things such as covering your mouth and keeping your head low are just a few to name.

Teachers went over what should be done in order to safely evacuate the school and stay out of danger. Students did well to follow directions and even answered some good questions!

After our Fire Drill, our K3 students enjoyed their last “textured” art of the month!

In previous weeks, they used cotton for clouds and feathers for birds. This time, they chose cardboard for trees. They used penciled and paintbrushes to make the cardboard rough and “tree-like”.

Students then added some paint to make their art more lively!

”It looks like a real tree!”

It was a long and fun day with many things happening. We will be back again next Thursday!

Have a good weekend!
