Summer Solstice

Today is the Summer Solstice and the first day of summer.

Today is the longest day of the year (the sun will set at 7:00pm tonight.) and the shortest night. Many cultures celebrate this year with feasts, bonfires, picnics and songs.
In ancient cultures, the Summer Solstice also marked the start of the New Year. It also marked the one-month countdown to the opening of the Olympic Games. Tokyo 2020 is on its way!
