In today’s Pre Access class, we began our new monthly science topic: Teeth! We began learning all about teeth, why we need them, how many we have, and how to keep them clean.

Many of our class already knew about toothbrushes and toothpaste, but they didn’t know the correct technique to clean our teeth to the fullest! We watched a video explaining the best ways to clean our teeth and make sure they stay strong and healthy. We even learnt about floss and mouthwash too! Everyone decided that it was important to clean our teeth twice a day for at least two minutes each time! Why not time yourself next time you brush your teeth? See if you are brushing the way dentists do!

After learning the best ways to clean our teeth, it was time to put our leaning into action. In our groups, we took turns to use our toothbrushes and clean all the “plaque” and “dirt” off their pictures of the teeth. Pupils had to work as teams and make their teeth as clean as possible, as fast as possible! Brush brush brush! Next, pupils took turns to have a brushing race and see who was the fastest cleaner in the class.

Well done everybody, I’m sure the dentists will be impressed next time they see you! Keep on brushing!
